PPEC stands for Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care. PPEC services provide full day services to medically fragile children in a less restrictive, cost-effective alternative to home health care or hospitalization. PPEC reduces self-isolation of home-bound programs. Allowing children to be included in their community, helping to achieve the highest quality of life.
Children who require ongoing medical attention to perform day to day skills and are unable to thrive in a typical school or day care environment. Children who have been hospitalized or encounter frequent emergency room visits for an ongoing condition such as, but not limited to, seizures, feeding or asthma.
PPEC services are covered by Medicaid once the child receives the recommendation & prescription or letter of medical necessity from their pediatrician. Our staff is happy to assist you with the enrollment process to begin a brighter day.
With our large outdoor, fenced in area, which is ADA compliant all children are taken outdoors every day to enjoy fresh air, participate in free play and various structured activities to engage and stimulate each child. We also have a beautiful screened in pavilion with fans for all to enjoy and relax as they listen to the wind chimes and water fall from the relaxing fountain.
At Brighter Days PPEC our skilled nursing staff works together with therapists and our educational staff to ensure we are aligning goals for each child. It's a wholistic teamwork approach!
